Week Two  – Set Apart

This Weeks Touchpoint from Pastor Tony

This weeks application points

Day One
Look up the definition of consecrated. What does this mean to you in the context of your personal relationship with God?
Day Two
In week one of the Anointing Toolbox series you wrote out a calling or dream you believe God placed on your life. Write out how you believe your call “sets you apart.”
Day Three
Find and write down three scriptures that describe how we are to “be set apart.”  The scriptures should contain characteristics of God we need to reflect as believers.
Day Four
As believers we live in this world but are not OF this world. Everyday we need to remain holy and Christ like as anointed people. Write down the name of a non believer in your area of influence. Reflect on how you can speak to them through practical and caring gestures simply by reflecting Christ.
Day Five
If consecration and anointing come from relationship with Christ, take time right now to going deeper in intimacy with Christ. Find a quiet place, put worship music on and soak in the presence of the Lord as you draw near to Him.

Set Apart

By Carolyn Soldano

Psalm 4:3
But know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself;
the LORD hears when I call to him.

As a young girl, I had a close friend who I spent a lot of time with, hanging out in places I shouldn’t have been in. We went to parties where there was a lot of drinking and neighbourhood bars. We had similar family situations and a lot in common. However, I had allowed this person to have a lot of unhealthy and non-spiritual influence in my life.
My spirit was grieved on many occasions because I knew my words, actions and environment were not pleasing to God.
I knew I had to make a choice. Either I live a life for God, holy, obedient and set apart or I continue with this friendship, knowing I was compromising myself.

Believe me when I say, what should have been an easy decision was not because we were so close and she had been a constant in my life. After many tears and prayers, hurts and fears, with God’s love and anointing, I was able to set myself apart from her and certain other people.

When I gave my life to Christ, I was a teenager and had no idea what purpose He had for me. I knew I had to set myself apart from certain situations to fulfill His purpose in my life. It was no longer about me, but about God and His purpose for me. I look back, not with any regret and realize that it was a teeny speck of a sacrifice compared to His sacrifice for me. As a matter of fact if someone had told me then that I would be a Pastor’s wife at All Peoples Church, I would have laughed. That was not something I would have chosen for my life. I’m so thankful that God is in control and that I submitted to His ways. On my own, I would have totally messed up my life.

It comes down to our willingness to sacrifice our desires for His desires and purpose for our lives. His anointing, His holiness, His desire to set you apart is for His glory and your benefit He will give you peace and a sense of confidence knowing you walk in His will. I encourage you to desire what He desires for your life. You will have no regrets. Although my life’s path is very different from the one I had envisioned for myself, I am at peace and have great joy living my life as God has purposed it for me, as the Pastor’s wife at All Peoples Church.

Yay God!!

2 Timothy 2:21
Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonourable, he will be a vessel for
honourable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
